HSG is the imaging of the uterus and ducts by applying liquid dye.

HSG is a method based on the imaging of intrauterine structures and uterine tubes by x-ray film by giving a liquid dye through the cervix. Especially in women who want to have a child, it is determined whether their tubes are open or not. If the tubes are completely blocked, IVF remains the only option. IVF’s success rates are VERY HIGH and because of the high success rates many patients no longer choose treatment other than IVF, with the possibility of placing remaining embryos when the sibling is desired. Sometimes, the blockages in the tubes may be partial or unilateral, they should be opened laparoscopically or the source of the damage in the tubes should be investigated.   In partial obstructions, if the chocolate cysts we call endometrioma were detected or not on ultrasound, we recommend that the obstructions be released by laparoscopy of the patient.

in the above film , there is a sticky adhesion in the uterus. It is probably an adhesion from the previous abortions of the patient. In this patient, intrauterine adhesions should be opened by performing hysterescopy before the application of IVF!

The same patient has a blockage in the left tube. The cause of the blockage should be investigated by laparoscopy and, if possible, the blockage should be opened.

The same patient underwent hysterroscopy and intrauterine adhesions were opened, It appears that adhesions marked with green arrows in the previous film are no longer present in the current film . After hysterescopy , laparoscopy was also performed and adhesions in the blocked area were opened in the left tube. On the left side, it can be seen that it is open in the above film and the dye substance passes easily .
