Tüp bebek uygulamalarında spermin seçimi çok önemlidir. Seçilen sperm yalnız gebeliğin oluşması için annenin yumurtası ile birleşmeyecek , seçilmiş sperm ile oluşan  embryo gebeliğin devamı ve  sağlıklı bir nesil gelişmesinide sağlayacaktır. Sperm hücresi anne yumurtasına oranla son derece basit , küçük bir yapıda olmasına rağmen içerdiği genetik özellikler bakımından babanın özelliklerinin mükemmel  bir örneğidir. Bu yüzden  gelecek nesiller boyunca da özelliklerin aktarımını sağlayacaktır.                                                                                           

 The selection of sperm is very important in IVF applications. The selected sperm will not merge with the mother’s egg for the formation of pregnancy alone, the embryo formed with the selected sperm will provide the continuation of pregnancy and the development of a healthy generation. Although the sperm cell is very simple and small compared to the mother’s egg, it is an excellent example of the father’s characteristics in terms of the genetic features it contains.
